The U.S. Navy supply ship USNS Cesar Chavez, in the middle, refuels the Royal Australian Navy’s HMAS Toowoomba, left, and HMAS Success so the Australian ships can continue the search for the missing Malaysian Airlines jet.

The Chavez joined the international task force led by the Australian Defense Force on April 10. Before setting sail for the remote waters of the southern Indian Ocean, the Chavez loaded provisions and fuel in Singapore. A U.S. Navy logistics team worked with the Royal Australian Navy Liaison Office to load supplies and fuel destined for Australian ships.

The 210-meter Chavez is expected to take on more provisions at Stirling, Western Australia, to continue supporting the task force ships.
