Sailors brief before a dive off the destroyer USS Pinckney on Malaysia’s Dinding River June 18.

The sailors, assigned to Mobile Diving Salvage Unit One, Company 1-5, are conducting dive exercises with the Royal Malaysian Navy during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training 2014.

In its 20th year, CARAT is a bilateral exercise series between the United States and the armed forces of the nine partner nations in South and Southeast Asia. Participating nations include Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Timor Leste.
