Assistant Secretary Biswal Travel To Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan

Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal will travel March 31-April 2 to Astana and Almaty, Kazakhstan and April 2-4 to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. In both countries, Assistant Secretary Biswal will re-affirm the U.S. commitment to continued engagement and partnership with the countries of the region for stability and prosperity.

In Kazakhstan, Assistant Secretary Biswal will meet with senior Kazakhstani officials to discuss our cooperation on a wide range of regional and bilateral issues. On April 1, Assistant Secretary Biswal will deliver remarks at L.N. Gumilov Eurasian National University in Astana on the bright future of the U.S.-Kazakhstan partnership. While in Kazakhstan, Assistant Secretary Biswal will also meet with business and civil society leaders.

In Kyrgyzstan, Assistant Secretary Biswal will meet with senior Kyrgyzstani officials to discuss our cooperation on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues. She will also meet with civil society representatives and hold an interactive dialogue with students at the American University of Central Asia in Bishkek.
