Eight inspiring designs with a strong environmental stamp revealed as the competition to deliver the UK Pavilion at Milan Expo 2015 enters its final phase

Creative teams have risen to the challenge of interpreting the UK theme at Milan Expo 2015. The theme is ‘Grown in Britain, Shared Globally’. The designs aim to raise awareness of how food production and consumption impacts on lives around the world, as the global population heads towards 9 billion.

The finalists’ concepts are listed anonymously under EU procurement rules. Sharp eyed design experts may enjoy guessing which teams have authored which schemes.

The UK will join over 140 countries at Milan Expo 2015 to promote global perceptions of the UK, and increase trade and investment.

Hannah Corbett, the UK Commissioner General and Project Director said:

"The creative sector has truly risen to the challenge of designing a world-class UK Pavilion that can showcase the best of the United Kingdom. The designs are impressive and diverse in their interpretation. It’s clear from the inspiring range of ideas on display, that we will be able to deliver something special at Milan Expo 2015."

The winning concept will be announced in May 2014.
