Today sees the launch of the Space for All 2014 Community Award Scheme for grants up to £5,000 to do just that.

This competitive process offers small grants up to £5,000 to groups looking to present the UK’s space programme and stimulate the use of space in inspiration and learning.

Applications should be received no later than 9am on the 20 October with decisions communicated to applicants the week commencing the 24 November.

A panel led by the Agency will judge the applications with support from representatives of the UK space community.

The judging criteria will include quality and practicality and size of the potential audience as well as the extent of alignment with the UK’s civil space strategy.

Preference will be given to projects that will reach an audience unaware of the UK’s space programme and to education projects which support the work of the UK’s space education programme office, ESERO-UK.

This call will have a total budget of £40,000 and will be the only call for the financial year 2014/15.

Previously funded projects include Spacefund’s ‘Kids in Space’ primary school show, Peterborough Museum’s ‘Space: Fact and Fiction’ exhibition, the Royal Observatory Edinburgh’s ‘Keeping Cool in Space’ teacher cpd workshop, and the University of Edinburgh’s’ Astrobiology Summer Academy.

More information about the scheme, including the application form and guidance notes, can be found under the Space for All funding section of our website.
